The University of California at Berkely saw pickets at every gate by students, workers and members of UPTE and CUE unions both in negotiations, AFT, UAW well represented and some effective solidarity from crews on the many sites across the construction zone called Berkeley.

A noon Rally was nearly the largest I’ve since, last October was the biggest protest in Sproul in decades. A Bon Voyage send-off was held for busloads to UCLA and the Regents Meeting, then a large march wound through Berkeley southside and downtown. There was a building sit-in at Dwinnelle Hall and reports of a tent city at Sproul Plaza tonight.
