Strike that. It doesn’t have “rules,” it has a rule. One rule. This rule:

Don’t be a jackass.

Don’t come here looking for a fight. Don’t be a bigot. Don’t come here looking for a fight about whether you’re a bigot. I’m not interested in hosting any of that. Take insults and snottiness somewhere else. What I am interested in is discussion.

Disagreement is welcome, but it should be respectful, at a minimum. Strive for better than respectful. Strive for decent. Strive for friendly.

And if you’re going to break the rules of decorum, break them in my direction. You need to pick a fight with someone, pick it with me, not your fellow posters. I still won’t like it, but I’ll probably cut you a little more slack.
